2007 Defenders/SF Summer Picnic

Saturday July 21st 2007 -- 10 AM

Jack London State Park is 47 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge in the town of Glenn Ellen.  The park features an intimate view of Jack London's life and his dreams.  There is plenty of hiking, lakes, vineyards, a museum, his grave and the ruins of his dream Woolf House that burned before if could be completed.

The cost of the picnic is $17 (Park entry is $6 per vehicle [$5 if there is a senior in the car]). The picnic lunch will feature Bar-B-Que ribs, wine, soft drinks, baked beans, breads and cheese.

The drive is easy and scenic.  Close to the park is the Benziger Winery which features an instructive tram ride through the vineyard.

The small village of Glenn Ellen features several interesting shops and restaurants.
